The Crown Of Life

My destiny winged it's final flight
I heard my Master's call.
I glided toward the tunnel's light
like a Princess at a Ball
Full attire of taffeta lace
but the crown's to large to wear.
Upon each gem reflected a face
of a battle I had to bear.
As I approached the Pearly Gate
there were no more tears
of pain or strife.
I paid my dues, awaited my fate
and carried my cross,
as the "crown of life."
